Traditional GAMING problems

Since HAMSTAVERSE ecosystem will partly consist of P2E projects, our team decided to touch upon the problems of traditional gaming industry. We see perfectly the situation in the P2E sector and that many have difficulty finding good P2E projects, because the market is oversaturated with projects with no prospects in development and no clear plans for development. The main problems of traditional gaming industry are described below:

  • Ownership of Assets: Their in-game assets don't belong to you (characters, accessories, in-game currency, etc.) but legally belong to the game company!

  • Little or no utility for in-game assets (mostly for beauty)

  • Trading: Community members can't trade the assets freely, legally, easily, and safely in open marketplaces, it's limited or prohibited at all (an example of go with prohibition on trading, holds, as well as commissions within Steam, the legality of trading in general)

  • In-game currency: You have to sell it on the gray-market*, if you are going to "leave" the project (e.g. Steam, where there are plenty of gray-markets to sell for fiat bypassing the system) while spending huge amounts of money in the form of commissions for such platforms.

  • Governance: Community doesn’t govern the game economy they are involved in. Participants are disempowered.
